Version 1.5.26.366 is a steady release with no new headline features — just the same darkly charming loop of base-building and brawling that's kept the flock growing.

Gather resources

You chop wood, mine stone, and collect food around procedurally generated maps. Raw materials let you construct shelters, shrines, and farms back at your compound.

Strengthen followers

You deliver sermons, assign chores, and keep hunger at bay so your cultists stay loyal. A happy follower generates devotion, which unlocks new structures and abilities.

Fight rival cults

Runs take you into enemy territory where you dodge, slash, and cast curses to topple rival leaders. Each victory brings new followers home — and chips away at the debt that started it all.

Switch off camera shake for cleaner combat

Head into the options menu before your first sermon. A few tweaks make the day-to-day smoother.

  • Camera shake — switch it off if the screen judder during combat feels distracting. The action reads clearer without it.
  • Auto-collect devotion — turn this on. It saves you running back to the shrine every time a follower prays, which adds up over a run.
  • Damage numbers — keep them visible while you learn weapon timing. You can hide them later for a cleaner look.
  • Cursor size — bump it up a notch on larger displays. The default pointer gets lost in busy fights.

What recent patches quietly improved

The jump to version 1.5 brought refinements that change how a session unfolds, even if no single bullet point screams for attention.

Follower pathfinding got smarter. They no longer bunch up behind the cooking station or ignore a freshly built bed. That means less babysitting when the compound gets crowded — you can spend longer inside a run without coming back to chaos.

Performance on Apple Silicon settled down. Earlier builds could stutter during sermon cutscenes or when twenty cultists gathered in one spot. On an M4 Mac mini it now holds a smooth frame rate even with a full roster, so those moments feel lively rather than sluggish.

Controller support also tightened up. Dodge and roll respond with less input lag than the launch build, which makes the difference between a clean boss takedown and a restart. If you play on a MacBook without a gamepad, the keyboard layout still works fine — just assign the heavy attack to a key you can reach without looking.

One small but welcome fix: the game remembers your last selected language after a relaunch, so you don't have to dig through menus every time. Good to know if you switch between English and Japanese for practice.

Questions I get

You split time between tending your cult — preaching, building, feeding followers — and venturing out on combat runs to gather resources and defeat rival cult leaders.

It runs natively on both Apple Silicon and Intel 64-bit Macs, and requires macOS 13.0 or newer.
