Master of Piece works on any Mac running macOS 10.13 High Sierra or newer. It supports both Intel and Apple Silicon machines natively, so M1, M2 and M3 owners get a smooth ride out of the box. You'll want 8 GB of RAM and about 2 GB of free space.
It's a deck-building roguelite, but instead of drawing cards you recruit mercenaries to form your team. Over 100 mercenaries and traits are available, and battle outcomes hinge on those traits, obstacles and status effects rather than direct commands. Fights resolve automatically.
Failed runs aren't wasted. They give you resources to construct buildings back at camp, which unlock permanent improvements. Region buildings also let you prepare the squad before taking on major enemies, so planning ahead softens the roguelike sting.
Everything is click-driven — no tricky key combos. Performance stays steady on recent silicon, and the automatic battles mean you won't notice any lag spikes during combat. It plays like a board game that handles the dice rolls for you.
A handful of small interactions stay hidden unless you stumble onto them. When placing a mercenary, right-clicking refunds the action point — handy if you spot a better position mid-drag. The camp screen lets you hover over any building icon for a tooltip that spells out its next upgrade cost, so you never guess whether to save resources or spend them now. During travel events, the choice buttons highlight faintly if you have a mercenary trait that alters the outcome. Look for that glow before committing.
Say you want a team that punishes early losses. Start a run and grab any mercenary with the Berserk trait during your first two drafts. Pair it with Speed Enchant if you see it — the recent 1.6.39 patch stopped that combo from stacking infinite speed buffs, but it still gives a solid tempo swing. Place fragile mercenaries on backline obstacles and let a tank hold the front flag. Once battle starts, watch the speed order: your enchanted units will swing first, softening enemies before the slower damage dealers clean up. Between regions, visit a camp building that boosts trait slots, then check the Rumors board for a damage multiplier. By the third region you'll have a squad that turns a single loss into a winning chain.
There are 20 cards and 30 relics to discover, plus a camp full of structures that provide lasting upgrades.
A separate Prologue version exists in the same series, giving a taste of the mercenary-driven auto-battles.
It includes Russian, English, German, Spanish, Italian, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Korean, Portuguese, French and Japanese.
